United Way of San Juan County

Meeting vital needs in our community since 1995

Why United Way?

What We Do Program Stories History Board & Staff

Local programs are struggling to provide critical services to young children, families and our elderly and disabled neighbors. Grants are disappearing. Our county’s small programs often don’t qualify for the funds left.

Combined with those of other generous givers, you help deliver services to more people and in more ways than any of us could possibly do alone.

Our volunteer board members and part-time director live on Orcas, Lopez and San Juan islands. 98% of all funds are used within San Juan County.

Your gift helps over 5,000 people countywide, through dozens of local nonprofits.

Each year, we carefully research each supported program for community need, effective measured results, a track record of success and fiscal responsibility. United Way of San Juan County has helped produce countywide results since 1995.

We keep costs low so funds go where they are needed most. Each year, every United Way’s financial records independently audited to ensure accuracy.

Your investment of $10 - $30 per month can give one child a mentor, provide after-school activities for one child, or assist one senior or disabled resident—for a full year!
