If you are interested in helping us raise our visibility and reach our fundraising goal, getting acquainted with local issues and having a significant positive and lasting impact people’s lives in our communities, serving on our board may be for you! We meet in Friday Harbor once a month for an hour and a half, and video-conferencing is an option.
Our network of associate members help with projects in fundraising, public awareness and annual events. Associate membership is a flexible way for people with good leadership abilities who may not have the time for full board membership contribute to projects of a set duration.
Volunteer for one day or more, helping with projects such as preparing bulk mailings, distributing materials to local businesses, or participating in Day of Caring activities. Your participation, large or small, is needed and appreciated!
Day of Caring is an annual event sponsored by United Way to further the spirit of volunteerism and to demonstrate what people working together for the community’s good can accomplish.
The day’s events include service projects on each major island, designed to aid community members and programs that could benefit from a day’s work. In the past we have assisted seniors and disabled community members with light home projects, attended to non-profit community buildings, weeded and groomed school gardens and public trails, and numerous other accomplishments on local projects. Thank you very much to all who make Day of Caring such a success!
